GTA 6 Release Date 2026: November Launch, Vice City and What We Know

Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will release on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC version is expected to follow later with further graphical improvements.

A Long-Awaited Sequel

GTA V launched in 2013, so the arrival of GTA 6 marks over a decade since the last mainline entry. The title has been delayed more than once: originally targeting fall 2025, then May 2026, and now November 2026. GTA 6 is set in a modern-day Vice City and the fictional state of Leonida, inspired by Florida. The story centres on two protagonists — Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos — who get caught up in a criminal conspiracy. Trailers have highlighted a dense, reactive world with improved NPC behaviour, dynamic events, and a strong emphasis on atmosphere and detail.

What’s New Under the Hood

Rockstar is promising a major step up in technology and design: advanced physics, more realistic interactions with the environment, and cutting-edge graphics with ray tracing support. The scale and density of the world, plus the dual-protagonist structure, are intended to make this the largest and most ambitious Grand Theft Auto to date.

Take-Two leadership has expressed confidence in the November window, noting it fits within the same fiscal year and offers a strong launch period. For fans, 2026 is finally the year Vice City returns.
