About WagerCodes
WagerCodes publishes calculators and reference material for working out what gambling offers are actually worth. It does not publish promo codes, rank operators, or tell you where to play.
Who runs this site
WagerCodes is written and maintained by Jay Calder. Pages carry a byline and a review date, so you can see who stands behind a page and when it was last looked at.
What we publish
- Calculators — a provably fair verifier, a wagering requirement calculator, and a case opening EV calculator.
- Method guides — the reasoning the calculators encode, written out so you can disagree with it specifically rather than in general.
What we don't publish
This matters as much as the previous section:
- Promo codes. They go stale, and there is no shortage of sites listing them. If that is what you came for, HowCents maintains them.
- Operator rankings. A "best casinos" list is an ordering of commission rates more often than an ordering of quality. We have no basis for auditing an operator's solvency, licensing, or payout behaviour, so we do not pretend to.
- News. It dates, and it is not what this site is for.
How the tools are built
Four rules, applied to every calculator here:
- The formula is published beside the tool. A number you cannot check is worth about as much as a number you were told.
- Worked examples are computed, not asserted. The figures in the prose come from the same arithmetic the calculator runs, so the two cannot drift apart.
- Nothing you enter is transmitted. The calculators run entirely in your browser. No seed, deposit figure, or drop table leaves your device — open your network tab and confirm it.
- The limits are stated. Each tool says what it does not model, because that is usually where the real cost sits.
How this site is maintained
The material here is evergreen by design. Expected value arithmetic does not change when an operator revises a promotion, which is precisely why the site is built around it. A page's review date moves when that page is actually revised — there is no site-wide bulk update, and the date in the footer derives from the newest genuine review rather than being set by hand.
Affiliate disclosure
The tool pages carry no affiliate links. Where this site links to HowCents for promo codes, that site does earn commission on signups. Stating it plainly seems better than burying it.
